Despite the changing dynamics of Latin American migration, understandings of immigration from Latin America to the United States remain inaccurate, violent, and harmful. MigrantVoices D.C. challenges prevailing immigration narratives to foster empathy for migrants and to educate those who work with them. Migrants’ voices, quotes, and personal photos serve as the primary teaching materials in our course. In centering migrant voices and creating the space for migrants to share their stories, we underscore and advocate for the humanity of all.
